Some days, it's easy to find something to be thankful for. Other days, gratitude takes a little more effort.
Life can be beautiful and difficult at the very same time. A family might be celebrating a new beginning while quietly missing someone who should have been there. Someone might be thankful for the people around them while worrying about what tomorrow will bring.
Faith doesn't require us to pretend everything is wonderful. And gratitude doesn't mean ignoring heartache.
Sometimes faith simply means believing that God is near, even when life feels uncertain.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.” — Psalm 34:18 (KJV)
There is comfort in knowing we don't have to find the perfect words or have everything figured out before coming to God. We can bring Him our worries, our gratitude, our questions, and our tears.
Sometimes the smallest blessings become especially meaningful during difficult seasons: a kind message, someone remembering to check in, a quiet moment outside, a familiar voice, a family member willing to listen.
Those little things don't erase our troubles, but they can remind us that love is still present.
A Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessings we sometimes overlook. Please be especially close to those carrying grief, worry, loneliness, or uncertainty. Give them comfort, strength, and peace. Help us recognize opportunities to show kindness and remind others that they are loved. Teach us to appreciate beautiful moments without forgetting those who are struggling. In Jesus' name, Amen.
You can be grateful for today's blessings and still be working through yesterday's sadness. Both feelings can have a place in your heart.
With love, The Fleming Collective
