A Family Business With a Window to the World

Home is where many of our favorite values begin: looking after one another, keeping our promises, making room for different generations, and finding joy in ordinary days. But home should never be the boundary of our curiosity. The Fleming Collective is rooted in family, and we also believe the world is far too interesting to view through only one window.

Our family has traveled to Spain, Portugal, Japan, destinations in Africa, Great Britain, Ireland, France, and Greece. Those journeys are part of our story, not a checklist of places we have collected. The meaningful part is the chance to encounter people whose language, traditions, food, and daily routines may be different from ours—and to respond with respect.

That same spirit guides the business we are building. We want to offer original designs and practical resources, but also stories that help families discover something beyond their familiar routines. A useful recipe, an encouraging thought, a new cultural perspective, or an idea for making a family day easier can all belong here.

We do not have to agree with every custom to treat the people who practice it with dignity. We do not have to travel thousands of miles to practice openness, either. We can listen to a neighbor, learn how to pronounce someone’s name, or try a dish while honoring the community it comes from.

As The Fleming Collective grows, we want to keep that combination of roots and openness. Our family story spans four generations. Our hope for the future is that the next generation inherits not only memories, but also the habit of approaching unfamiliar things with curiosity rather than judgment.
