The Everyday Kindness Children Notice
Children notice more than we realize. They see how adults speak to a cashier, welcome a newcomer, apologize after a mistake, and treat someone who needs help.
Try talking about kindness in specific ways: who might feel left out, what a sincere apology sounds like, or how to make a new classmate comfortable.
Kindness includes boundaries. Children can care for others while saying no and asking for help. A thank-you note or an encouraging word can be a wonderful family practice.
