The One-Drawer Reset: A Home Refresh That Fits Real Life
When life feels cluttered, the idea of organizing an entire house can be overwhelming. But a calmer home does not have to begin with a weekend-long project, a shopping trip, or a collection of matching containers. It can begin with one drawer.
Choose a spot that bothers you often: the kitchen junk drawer, a bathroom shelf, or the place where school papers collect. Set a timer for ten minutes. Empty the space, wipe it down, and group similar items. Throw away trash, recycle what you can, and move things that belong elsewhere.
Before buying organizers, try small boxes or containers you already own. Put the most frequently used items where they are easiest to reach. If something has not been used in a long time, ask whether it still serves your household. There is no need to make the drawer perfect for a photograph; it only needs to work better for your family.
Then stop. One finished small task can be more satisfying than an ambitious project that leaves the whole house upside down. Tomorrow you might tackle another drawer, or you might not. Progress in a busy household often comes in small, practical pieces.
Sharing our family with yours — one beautifully imperfect day at a time.
